Acumen ceases development of sabirnetug after Phase 2 ALTITUDE-AD trial misses primary endpoint

ABOSAcumen Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Acumen Pharmaceuticals announced that its Phase 2 ALTITUDE-AD clinical trial for sabirnetug (ACU193) in early Alzheimer’s disease failed to meet the primary endpoint of cognitive and functional decline at both 35 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg doses. The drug also missed key secondary endpoints, including Clinical Dementia Rating – Sum of Boxes, though it did show statistically significant amyloid plaque reduction. Consequently, Acumen plans to cease development of sabirnetug and implement cash conservation measures while evaluating strategic options for its remaining programs. Acumen Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapeutics targeting toxic soluble amyloid beta oligomers for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
