Akebia Therapeutics and U.S. Renal Care announced that the interim analysis of the Vafseo Outcomes In Center Experience (VOICE) trial met predefined stopping criteria. Based on a June 1, 2026, data cutoff, the trial established non-inferiority and superiority of the primary composite endpoint of all-cause mortality and all-cause hospitalization. The analysis showed a win odds of 1.16 (95% CI 1.06, 1.28, p=0.0016) and a statistically significant decrease in hospitalizations for Vafseo versus standard-of-care erythropoiesis stimulating agents (1.11 versus 1.23 per patient year). Mortality rates showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups.
