Alector granted Genentech exclusive worldwide rights to develop and commercialize its AL050 program, a brain-penetrant engineered glucocerebrosidase enzyme replacement therapy. Alector will receive a $100 million upfront payment and is eligible for up to $1.17 billion in development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments, plus tiered royalties on net sales. Genentech assumes responsibility for all development, manufacturing, and commercialization activities. Concurrently, Alector exercised an option to license certain patents from Spur Therapeutics for a $15 million payment. The transaction is expected to extend Alector's cash runway into 2029.
