Alkermes plc announced positive topline results from a phase 1 proof-of-concept study evaluating ALKS 7290, an investigational orexin 2 receptor agonist for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The study enrolled 50 adults with ADHD and demonstrated dose-dependent, clinically meaningful improvements in symptoms at day 14. Median reductions from baseline were 14.0 points on the Adult ADHD Investigator Symptom Rating Scale (AISRS) for the 20 mg dose and 19.0 points for the 50 mg dose. The drug was generally well tolerated with no serious treatment-emergent adverse events reported. A phase 2 study is currently enrolling approximately 312 participants, with data expected in 2027. Alkermes plc operates as a global biopharmaceutical company developing innovative medicines in neuroscience.
