On July 28, 2026, Altimmune announced positive topline results from the Phase 2 RECLAIM trial evaluating pemvidutide 2.4 mg for moderate to severe alcohol use disorder. The trial met its primary endpoint with a statistically significant reduction in heavy drinking days versus placebo (p=0.0014). Secondary endpoints included a two-level reduction in WHO Risk Drinking Levels (64.4% vs 34.8%, p=0.0049) and zero heavy drinking days (42.2% vs 17.4%, p=0.0066), both recognized by the FDA as registrational endpoints. The drug demonstrated a generally favorable safety profile, though nausea and vomiting were observed. Altimmune plans to request an End-of-Phase 2 meeting with the FDA and initiate a Phase 3 trial for MASH in Q3 2026. Altimmune is a late clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing therapies for serious liver diseases.
