BBVA announced a comprehensive renewal of its executive leadership team and organizational structure to drive transformation amid the impact of artificial intelligence. Key appointments include Gonzalo Rodríguez as new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Luisa Gómez Bravo; José Luis Elechiguerra as Country Manager in Mexico; Gloria Couceiro as Country Manager in Colombia; Pablo Pastor as Head of Global Risk Management; Roberto Albaladejo as Global Head of Strategy & M&A; and Jacobo de Nicolás as Global Head of Legal. The restructuring simplifies the organization by integrating Compliance and Non-Financial Risks into Global Risk Management and streamlining South American reporting lines to report directly to the CEO or specific client solutions divisions. These changes are scheduled to take effect on September 1, 2026. BBVA operates in the global banking and financial services industry.
