On August 26, 2026, Biohaven Ltd. entered into a strategic global licensing agreement with SK Biopharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. granting an exclusive worldwide license to its Kv7 ion channel platform, led by opakalim (BHV-7000), for the treatment of focal epilepsy. SKBP will pay a non-refundable upfront fee of $400 million ($350 million at closing and $50 million in 2027) and is eligible to pay up to $150 million in development and regulatory milestones. Biohaven retains rights to conduct ongoing Phase 2/3 clinical trials (RISE 2 and RISE 3) for opakalim, while SKBP assumes responsibility for future development costs and certain milestone obligations totaling $245 million tied to Knopp Biosciences. The transaction includes tiered royalties ranging from the mid-teens to low twenties on U.S. net sales and mid-single-digit royalties on ex-U.S. sales.
