BioAge Labs doses first participant in Phase 2 trial of BGE-102 for diabetic macular edema

BioAge Labs announced that the first participant has been dosed in QUELL-DME, a randomized, controlled Phase 2 trial evaluating once-daily oral BGE-102, an NLRP3 inhibitor, for diabetic macular edema. The approximately 180-participant study compares BGE-102 monotherapy and combination therapy against anti-VEGF controls over 12 weeks, with topline results expected in the second half of 2027. BioAge Labs is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing therapies for retinal and cardiovascular diseases.
