Biomea reports Phase 1 BMF-650 data showing up to 3.2% weight loss with favorable tolerability

Biomea Fusion announced top-line results from its Phase 1 GLP-131 clinical trial for BMF-650, an investigational oral small-molecule glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist. In the multiple ascending dose cohorts, mean weight reduction ranged from 1.5% to 3.2% at Day 29 compared with 0.1% for pooled placebo. The highest dosing cohort achieved a 6.1% mean weight reduction over four weeks using a rapid one-step titration to 400 mg daily. All treatment-emergent adverse events were mild or moderate, with no serious events or discontinuations related to the drug.
