BioNTech SE announced that its Supervisory Board appointed Guido Oelkers to the Management Board as Chief Executive Officer, effective by February 1, 2027. Oelkers succeeds co-founder Prof. Ugur Sahin and joins from Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (Sobi), where he served as CEO since 2017. Concurrently, Chief Medical Officer Prof. Özlem Türeci will transition to lead a new independent company alongside Sahin.
