Court reduces actual damages to $37,500 but upholds $15.4M disgorgement against Beyond Meat

Beyond Meat, Inc. reported a court ruling on post-trial motions in a trademark infringement lawsuit brought by Sonate Corporation (d/b/a Vegadelphia Foods). The jury previously found Beyond Meat liable for infringing on Sonate's registered trademark 'WHERE GREAT TASTE IS PLANT-BASED®' and awarded $23.5 million in actual damages and $15.4 million in disgorgement of profits. On September 18, 2026, the Court reduced the actual damages award from $23.5 million to $37,500 while upholding the $15.4 million disgorgement. The total judgment entered against Beyond Meat is $15,437,500. The company may pursue further appeals. Beyond Meat operates in the food industry, manufacturing and selling plant-based meat alternatives.
