DoorDash agrees to acquire Maplebear for ~$17B; Q3 revenue rises 17% to $1.1B

Maplebear Inc. (Instacart) entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by DoorDash, Inc. in a cash-and-stock transaction valuing the company at an equity value of approximately $17 billion. Concurrently, Maplebear reported third-quarter 2026 financial results showing total revenue grew 17% year-over-year to $1,095 million and GAAP net income reached $147 million. Gross Transaction Value (GTV) increased 15% to $10,528 million, while Adjusted EBITDA rose 23% to $342 million. The company also announced the cancellation of its scheduled earnings conference call and the suspension of financial guidance pending the transaction's completion. Maplebear Inc. operates a leading grocery technology platform that partners with retailers to power ecommerce, fulfillment, and advertising services.
