Bill Morneau appointed Chair of the Board at CIBC, effective January 1, 2027

CIBC announced that Bill Morneau will succeed Katharine B. Stevenson as Chair of the Board, effective January 1, 2027. Mr. Morneau, an independent director since 2022 and current chair of the Corporate Governance Committee, brings extensive experience in government, public policy, and business, including serving as Canada's Minister of Finance from 2015 to 2020. Ms. Stevenson will retire from the Board on December 31, 2026, after six years as Chair and ten years as an independent director.
