ConocoPhillips announced a leadership succession effective September 1, 2026. Ryan M. Lance will retire as President and Chief Executive Officer to assume the role of Executive Chair of the Board. Andrew (Andy) M. O’Brien, currently Executive Vice President, Strategy, Commercial and Chief Financial Officer, will succeed him as President and CEO. Kontessa S. Haynes-Welsh will be promoted from Vice President, Finance and Controller to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, while Greig Patterson will become Vice President, Finance and Controller. The Board approved new compensatory arrangements for the executives, including base salaries and incentive targets.
