Core Scientific, Inc. completed the acquisition of Polaris DS LLC on August 13, 2026, for approximately $444.3 million in cash. The transaction secures roughly 440 megawatts of currently in-service gross power capacity utilized by Polaris under agreements with Oklahoma Gas & Electric. An additional $40 million may be paid if 40 megawatts of firm electric capacity becomes available to the Target before December 31, 2026. This acquisition supports Core Scientific's strategic expansion of its Muskogee campus, which aims to reach approximately 1.5 gigawatts of gross power and 1.0 gigawatt of leasable power through grid-connected and behind-the-meter solutions. The company plans to deliver the next 82 megawatts at Muskogee to customers starting in the second half of 2027. Core Scientific operates large-scale, purpose-built data centers for high-density colocation services, primarily serving artificial intelligence workloads.
