On September 14, 2026, Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. filed an application with the Alberta Securities Commission to halt Aurora Cannabis' at-the-market share issuance program during its pending tender offer for all outstanding shares. Curaleaf argues that Aurora's use of the ATM program is an abusive defensive tactic that dilutes shareholders and increases the acquisition cost by more than US$11 million. Since June 2026, Aurora issued approximately 2.81 million shares at an average price of US$3.04, resulting in ~5% dilution to existing shareholders. Curaleaf Chairman Boris Jordan stated that issuances below the US$4.00 offer price erode shareholder value and interfere with the consideration of the premium bid. The company requested an expedited hearing to stop further issuances while the offer remains outstanding. Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. is a leading international provider of consumer cannabis products operating across medical and adult use markets.
