Editas Medicine received Human Research Ethics Committee approval and completed the Clinical Trial Notification process with Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration to begin the Phase 1/2 Strive clinical trial of EDIT-401. The trial targets patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, utilizing an in vivo gene editing approach designed to reduce LDL-cholesterol levels. The company has selected five sites across Australia and New Zealand, expecting initial safety data in the first quarter of 2027.
