Electra Battery Materials Corp extended its cobalt hydroxide feed purchase agreement with Glencore AG through December 31, 2031. This five-year extension secures 100% of the feedstock required for the commissioning and ramp-up of Electra’s Ontario cobalt sulfate refinery through 2027. The deal provides approximately 10,000 metric tonnes of contained cobalt over five years, representing over US$500 million at current market prices. This supply foundation supports the facility's anticipated mechanical completion in 2027 and full production ramp-up. The agreement complements a March 2026 binding term sheet with LG Energy Solution for long-term off-take of battery-grade cobalt sulfate. Electra Battery Materials Corp operates in the critical minerals sector, constructing North America’s only cobalt sulfate refinery to process raw materials into battery-grade products.
