Equillium receives Australian regulatory approval for Phase 1 trial of EQ504

Equillium announced it has received Human Research Ethics Committee approval and clearance from the Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia under the Clinical Trial Notification scheme for its Phase 1 clinical trial of EQ504. The company expects to begin dosing healthy participants by early November 2026. The randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study will evaluate safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of once-daily oral doses ranging from 0.1 to 3.0 mg. The trial includes single ascending dose, multiple ascending dose, and food effect cohorts, with gastrointestinal biopsies planned to assess target validation ahead of a Phase 2 proof-of-concept study. Equillium operates in the pharmaceutical industry, developing novel therapeutics for inflammatory conditions.
