Getty Images files Chapter 11, cancels equity, retires $920M+ debt via prepackaged plan

GETYGetty Images Holdings, Inc.

Getty Images Holdings filed voluntary petitions for Chapter 11 reorganization in Delaware Bankruptcy Court on October 21, 2026. The company is implementing a prepackaged plan supported by key stakeholders holding approximately 90% of secured funded debt and 83% of unsecured notes. Under the plan, all existing Class A common stock and equity interests will be cancelled with no recovery for shareholders. The restructuring eliminates over $500 million in funded debt obligations, including the retirement of approximately $920 million in aggregate principal amount of senior notes and term loans through a combination of cash payments, new debt instruments, and equity conversion. Plan sponsors are injecting approximately $433 million in new equity and providing a $143 million debtor-in-possession facility.
