Genworth names Jerome Upton President and CEO to succeed retiring Tom McInerney

Genworth Financial announced that Thomas J. McInerney will retire as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Board member effective December 31, 2026. The board appointed Jerome T. Upton, currently the company's CFO, to succeed him as President and CEO on January 1, 2027, while also electing him to the Board. Angela R. Simmons will become Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective the same date. McInerney’s departure is not due to any disagreement with the company. Genworth operates in the insurance industry, providing long-term care planning products and services.
