iBio released preclinical body-composition data from an eight-week obese non-human primate study evaluating IBIO-610, a potential first-in-class Activin E antibody. When combined with semaglutide, lean mass accounted for only 6% of weight loss compared to 22% with semaglutide alone, while fat comprised 93% of the total weight lost versus 77%. The candidate demonstrated near-complete inhibition of active Activin E and a half-life supporting potential twice-yearly dosing. iBio plans to initiate first-in-human studies in the first half of 2027. iBio is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing long-acting antibody therapeutics for obesity, cardiometabolic, and other diseases.
