Insteel Industries Inc. announced the closure of its Upper Sandusky, Ohio facility and the consolidation of welded wire manufacturing operations to remaining sites with ample capacity. The restructuring will eliminate up to 65 positions, with operations ceasing by October 2026. The company expects to incur approximately $4.6 million in restructuring charges, comprising $2.5 million for equipment relocation, $1.0 million for asset impairment, $0.7 million for other costs, and $0.4 million for employee separations. Management stated the move aligns the footprint with customer demand and improves efficiency without affecting revenue. Insteel is the nation’s largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications.
