Loews reports Q3 net income of $306M, or $1.50 per share
LLoews Corp
Loews Corporation reported third-quarter 2026 net income of $306 million, or $1.50 per share, a decline from $504 million, or $2.43 per share, in the prior-year period. The year-over-year decrease was primarily driven by a $125 million after-tax charge at CNA Financial Corporation related to its annual long-term care reserve assumption updates, as well as lower property and casualty underwriting results and higher catastrophe losses. Boardwalk Pipelines net income fell to $85 million from $94 million due to operating expenses and impairment charges, while Loews Hotels & Co net income rose to $16 million from a loss of $3 million on improved occupancy and rates. The company repurchased 1.6 million shares for $167 million during the quarter. Loews Corporation is a diversified holding company with businesses in insurance, energy, hospitality, and packaging.
