MFA Financial names Bryan Wulfsohn CEO effective July 2027 as Craig Knutson retires

MFA Financial announced that President and Chief Investment Officer Bryan Wulfsohn will succeed Craig L. Knutson as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2027. Mr. Wulfsohn, a 16-year company veteran who has served as President since September 2024, will also join the Board of Directors on January 1, 2027. Mr. Knutson, who has led the company since July 2017, will retire from his executive role but is expected to remain on the Board following reelection at the 2027 annual meeting. Additionally, Andrew P. Kail will join as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer effective January 1, 2027. MFA Financial operates in the specialty finance sector, investing in residential mortgage loans, mortgage-backed securities, and originating business purpose real estate loans.
