MGE Energy reported third-quarter 2026 GAAP net income of $56.4 million, or $1.48 per diluted share, compared to $44.5 million, or $1.22 per diluted share, in the same period last year. Electric segment earnings increased by $11.6 million, driven by strategic capital investments and renewable energy projects that expanded the rate base. Gas net income remained stable, while investment gains rose approximately $2.2 million due to returns from venture capital funds focused on energy technologies. Operating revenues for the quarter reached $190.4 million, up from $175.7 million in 2025. MGE Energy is a public utility holding company whose principal subsidiary generates and distributes electricity and natural gas to customers in Wisconsin.
