Satellos Bioscience Inc. announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared its Investigational New Drug application for forazapadin to treat facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). The company plans to initiate a Phase 2 clinical study in FSHD during the fourth quarter of 2026, evaluating safety and efficacy at 60 mg and 120 mg doses. Additionally, Satellos entered into a partnership with the FSHD Canada Foundation, which will provide up to US$5 million in non-dilutive financing through milestone payments over five quarters in exchange for capped revenue-sharing interest. This marks the second clinical indication for forazapadin, following ongoing development for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Satellos Bioscience Inc. is a clinical-stage drug development company focused on restoring natural muscle repair and regeneration in degenerative muscle diseases.
