On July 31, 2026, Brookfield Oaktree Holdings, LLC consummated a major transaction involving the acquisition and cancellation of outstanding limited partnership interests in Oaktree Capital Group Holdings L.P. and related equity plans in exchange for cash, shares of Brookfield Asset Management Ltd., Brookfield Corporation, ExchangeCo units, or RSUs. Concurrently, Brookfield US Company LLC acquired general partner interests in Oaktree Capital I from an affiliate for fair market value. The company's board was reduced from 10 to 5 members; Howard Marks and nine others resigned, while Matt Herrington, Karly Dyck, Kunal Dusad, Brett Fox, and Aleks Novakovic were appointed.
