On September 1, 2026, Ocugen announced the first patient was dosed in the global Phase 3 registrational trial of OCU410, a gene therapy candidate for Geographic Atrophy secondary to dry age-related macular degeneration. This follows FDA alignment on pivotal trial design and RMAT designation granted in July 2026. Separately, on September 3, 2026, the independent Data Monitoring Committee recommended continuing the Phase 2/3 OCU410ST trial for Stargardt disease to obtain eight-month follow-up data on the entire population, despite interim results showing a negative direction of treatment effect that could suggest futility.
