OMNIQ gets patent for AI vehicle occupancy detection system with $1.6M annual revenue potential

OMNIQ Corp. announced the grant of U.S. Patent No. 12,633,155 B1 for an AI-based vehicle occupancy detection system used in high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane enforcement. The patent covers deep-learning methods that automatically count occupants in moving vehicles using multiband line-scan imagery and infrared contrast. A representative deployment could generate approximately $1.6 million in annual revenue, with a total addressable market estimated at $218 million across 136 U.S. facilities. The technology is already deployed at two active U.S. sites and one international site. OMNIQ Corp. operates in the artificial intelligence and computer vision industry, providing machine vision solutions for surveillance, traffic management, and access control.
