Principal Financial reports $2.91 EPS for Q3 2026 and raises Q4 dividend to $0.85 per share

Principal Financial Group reported third-quarter 2026 diluted earnings per share of $2.91, compared to $0.95 in the prior year period. Non-GAAP operating earnings per share excluding significant variances rose 7% to $2.49. The company returned $429 million to shareholders through $250 million in share repurchases and $179 million in dividends. Principal also announced a common stock dividend increase of $0.01, raising the fourth-quarter payout to $0.85 per share, payable on December 18, 2026, to holders of record as of December 2, 2026.
