Packaging Corporation of America reported third quarter 2026 net income of $262 million, or $2.93 diluted earnings per share, compared to $227 million, or $2.51 per share, in the prior year period. Net sales increased 12% to $2.6 billion from $2.3 billion. Excluding special items such as facility closure costs and acquisition charges, adjusted EPS was $3.04, beating guidance of $2.91 per share by $0.13. The company expects fourth quarter earnings of $2.81 per share excluding special items, citing expected increases in freight and fiber costs offset by improved pricing.
