PTC Therapeutics announced it was selected as the winning bidder to acquire ST-920, a BLA-stage one-time administered AAV gene therapy for Fabry disease, from Sangamo Therapeutics in a competitive bankruptcy auction. The acquisition terms include an $111 million upfront payment and up to $100 million in contingent milestone payments: $80 million upon receiving accelerated FDA approval and $20 million upon traditional or full approval. The transaction is subject to definitive documentation, bankruptcy court approval, antitrust review, and customary closing conditions, with expected closure in late Q3 or early Q4 2026. PTC plans to complete a rolling BLA submission for accelerated approval by the end of 2026 based on Phase 1/2 STAAR study data showing favorable renal function effects. PTC Therapeutics is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing medicines for rare disorders.
