SFL agrees to acquire two container vessels and one ammonia carrier for $365M

SFL Corporation Ltd. has agreed to acquire two 8,800 TEU container vessels with scheduled delivery in 2027 and one 93,000 cbm dual-fuel Very Large Ammonia Carrier (VLAC) with scheduled delivery in 2028 for an aggregate cost of approximately $365 million. The company has secured minimum eight-year time charters for the container vessels from a leading liner company, adding at least $333 million to its fixed-rate charter backlog. The VLAC is chartered on a minimum five-year basis to a global commodities leader. SFL operates in the maritime transportation industry, owning and operating a diverse fleet of tanker, bulk carrier, container, car carrier, and offshore drilling vessels.
