Standard Nuclear, Inc. announced that construction is substantially complete at its new advanced nuclear fuel production facilities in Tennessee and Idaho. The company received approval of Preliminary Documented Safety Analyses (PDSAs) from the U.S. Department of Energy for both sites. Once fully scaled, these facilities are expected to add up to 5 metric tons of uranium (MTU) per year of TRISO production capacity. The company intends for these lines to operate as Hazard Category 2 nuclear facilities. Standard Nuclear is an energy company that manufactures TRISO nuclear fuel for advanced reactors.
