Stantec, in partnership with Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson (JMT), was awarded a US$150 million joint venture contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to design critical infrastructure for coastal storm risk management on Charleston’s peninsula. The project is part of a larger US$1.2 billion program involving more than eight miles of integrated coastal infrastructure, including storm surge barriers, floodwalls, levees, pump stations, and nature-based features like living shorelines. This award highlights Stantec’s leadership in coastal resilience and strengthens its position to grow work with the USACE in major coastal metropolitan markets. Stantec operates as a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting.
