SWZ Proposes Special Cash Distribution Equal to Approx. 30% of Net Assets
SWZTotal Return Securities Fund
The Swiss Helvetia Fund filed preliminary proxy materials for a special meeting of stockholders scheduled as soon as practicable. The proposals include entering into an investment advisory agreement with Bulldog Investors, LLP and changing the Fund's investment objective to expand its types of investments. If approved, the Board intends to sell substantially all portfolio securities and declare a special cash distribution consisting of long-term capital gains equal to approximately 30% of the Fund’s net assets. Additionally, if shares trade at more than a 10% discount to NAV for ten consecutive business days in 2025, the Board may authorize a tender offer for at least 15% of outstanding shares at no less than 98% of NAV. The Swiss Helvetia Fund is an investment company that invests primarily in securities of Swiss companies.
