SYMSymbotic Inc.
Symbotic Inc. and Walmart Inc. entered into an Enterprise Master Automation Agreement establishing a framework for global automation systems. Walmart committed approximately $6 billion in initial aggregate additional spend over several years, which could increase Symbotic’s future backlog by up to $6.92 billion. The agreement includes market program addenda for purchasing proprietary automated material handling systems and a development program addendum where Walmart funds $125 million for next-generation racking technology research. Walmart retains the right to recommend one independent director to Symbotic's board as long as it holds more than 5% of equity, with observer rights if revenue exceeds 50%. The deal also restricts Symbotic from selling products to certain competitors. Symbotic Inc. is an automation technology leader providing AI-powered robotic and software platforms for supply chain distribution.
