TD Bank Group announced an intention to commence a new share buyback program, subject to regulatory approval from the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI), to repurchase up to C$10 billion of its common shares. The program aims to acquire no more than 61 million shares by July 2027 under an existing normal course issuer bid, with a new TSX NCIB to follow subject to exchange approval. TD completed the repurchase of C$7 billion (47.2 million shares) on September 25, 2026, under its previous program which expires January 15, 2027. The new buyback represents up to 3.74% of issued and outstanding common shares as of August 31, 2026. TD Bank Group is the sixth largest bank in North America by assets, serving millions of clients through personal, commercial, wealth management, and wholesale banking operations.
