United Therapeutics and Liquidia Technologies entered into a settlement agreement resolving multiple patent infringement lawsuits regarding Yutrepia's use in treating pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD). Under the terms, Liquidia will pay United Therapeutics an aggregate of $330.4 million, comprising $185 million for past damages and $145.4 million for future sales, payable in installments through April 2027. In exchange, United Therapeutics will pay Liquidia $10 million to settle related antitrust claims brought by RareGen and Sandoz. The agreement requires Liquidia to immediately cease marketing Yutrepia for the PH-ILD indication and seek FDA approval to remove it from the product label.
