On September 8, 2026, Veru Inc. announced it will advance its oral drug candidate sabizabulin into a planned Phase 2b clinical trial for metastatic pancreatic cancer resistant to daraxonrasib (RASONQUE). This strategic pivot follows positive preclinical data showing sabizabulin's potent anticancer activity in daraxonrasib-resistant KRAS-driven cell lines. Consequently, the company will cease development of sabizabulin for chronic inflammation related to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
