Viking Therapeutics reports VK2735 maintained up to 97% of weight loss with every-other-week dosing in maintenance study

Viking Therapeutics announced positive top-line results from the VK2735-102 maintenance study of its dual GLP-1/GIP agonist VK2735. Participants transitioned to every-other-week dosing maintained up to 97% of weight loss, while monthly dosing maintained up to 90%, compared with 61% for placebo. The exploratory weekly cohort achieved approximately 22% placebo-adjusted weight loss at Week 33 without plateau. GI adverse event rates during maintenance were comparable to placebo.
