On September 15, 2026, Woodward's Board approved a plan to transition military fixed-wing and rotorcraft flight control actuation production from its Santa Clarita, California facility to its new Spartanburg, South Carolina campus. The company will divest legacy commercial rotorcraft, land systems, and business jet product lines, along with the Santa Clarita campus, in a transaction expected to close in fiscal 2027. Woodward estimates cumulative pre-tax charges of $34 million to $47.5 million for severance ($23M–$29M), contract termination ($10M–$16.5M), and other exit costs ($1M–$2M). Approximately 400 roles will be affected, with operations ceasing by December 2027. Woodward is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and service of energy conversion and control solutions for the aerospace and industrial equipment markets.
