Adicet Bio, Inc. announced positive safety and efficacy data from its Phase 1 study of prula-cel in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or lupus nephritis (LN). Among 22 evaluable patients, 50% achieved complete renal response at 12 months, and 54% achieved DORIS remission. The therapy demonstrated a favorable safety profile with no cytokine release syndrome greater than Grade 2, no immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome, and no dose-limiting toxicities. All patients discontinued immunosuppressants, and nearly all tapered steroids to low levels. Based on these results, the company plans to initiate start-up activities for a pivotal single-arm study in LN in the fourth quarter of 2026, with potential expansion to include non-renal SLE.
