Amgen appoints former Yum! Brands CEO David W. Gibbs to its Board of Directors

Amgen Inc. has appointed David W. Gibbs as a director, effective immediately. Gibbs brings extensive leadership experience from his tenure as Chief Executive Officer and President of Yum! Brands, where he oversaw digital transformation and global expansion. He currently serves on the boards of Under Armour and PepsiCo. Upon joining Amgen's Board, Gibbs will serve on the Audit Committee and the Compensation and Management Development Committee. The appointment brings the total number of directors to 13, with 12 classified as independent. As a non-employee director, Gibbs receives standard compensation including an annual cash retainer and equity grants. Amgen discovers, develops, manufactures, and delivers innovative medicines to treat serious diseases.
