On September 8, 2026, Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. announced it was selected by the Nuclear Liabilities Fund (NLF) to manage a long-term investment mandate with an initial commitment of $1 billion (approximately £750 million). The mandate will be managed by Brookfield’s Investment Solutions Group and invested globally across infrastructure, energy, private equity, real estate, and private credit strategies. This partnership aims to generate returns sufficient to cover the future decommissioning costs of eight UK nuclear power stations over a multi-decade horizon.
