Caledonia Mining Corporation Plc announced surface exploration results from its Blanket mine in Zimbabwe, identifying a previously unrecognized gold mineralized zone containing both oxide and sulphide mineralisation. The discovery, located approximately 200 metres east of the nearest underground orebody, may represent a new orebody. Preliminary metallurgical tests on oxide material show encouraging results for conventional heap leaching, and the company plans a 10,000-tonne trial heap leach operation in the second half of 2026. An updated Blanket resource statement incorporating these results is expected in August 2026. The company operates in the mining industry and focuses on gold exploration and production.
