Cytek Biosciences announced that a jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware returned a verdict in a patent infringement lawsuit brought by Beckman Coulter, Inc. The jury found Cytek not liable on three of four claims, ruling noninfringement and invalidity. On the fourth claim, the jury found no literal infringement but ruled infringement under the doctrine of equivalents, awarding $20 million in lost profits and $36.11 million in royalties for past damages. Cytek intends to challenge this finding through post-verdict motions and potentially an appeal to the Federal Circuit. The verdict does not require changes to current product offerings or operations.
