ECARX completes $266M acquisition of Flyme software business using RMB1.8B in cash and debt

ECARx Holdings Inc. has completed its acquisition of the entire Flyme software business portfolio from DreamSmart Group for a total consideration of RMB1.8 billion (approximately US$266 million). The all-cash transaction was funded through approximately 70% syndicated bank loans with a 10-year maturity and 30% internal sources. ECARX acquired 100% of the equity interest in Hubei Qiguang Technology Co., Ltd., securing Flyme Auto, an in-vehicle cockpit operating system, and Flyme OS. The acquired entity will operate as an independent software division, preserving R&D continuity and existing customer contracts. This move integrates end-to-end operating system capabilities with ECARX’s hardware roadmaps to create a unified technology stack for global automakers.
