PMGC Holdings reports EL-32 preclinical study results with semaglutide, plans follow-on trial

PMGC Holdings announced preliminary results from an eight-week preclinical study of EL-32, an engineered probiotic candidate developed by its subsidiary NorthStrive Biosciences. The study evaluated the combination of EL-32 and semaglutide in a diet-induced obesity mouse model. Findings showed statistically significant lean mass preservation at the highest EL-32 dose but no consistent additive metabolic benefit over semaglutide alone. Consequently, the company plans to design a follow-on preclinical study using a lower dose of semaglutide with lean mass as the primary endpoint, expecting an update in Q1 2027.
